Firmly Rooted’s Purpose for Existing:

It is my hope and prayer that this website will be a place where we (anyone) can gather together and wrestle with key life questions.  That we can discover together what God’s truth has to say to our everyday lives.  I want this  web sight to be as useful to someone who is wondering about the Christian faith, as it is to someone who has been a Christian for years.

This sight is based on two of my favorite Bible verses: (Hence the logo!)

Ps. 1:3 – “He is like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season, and its leaves do not whither” (NASB)

Col. 2:6 – “Just as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted…” (NASB)

Who of us wouldn’t want our lives to feel like they were FIRMLY ROOTED?  Rooted in such a place that we would not experience the natural loss of leaves and fruits, but would be connected to a stream that allowed us to produce leaves and fruits at all times.

Is it possible that we can get so connected to God’s truth that our lives could be experienced and described as above?  This sight is as much for my growth as I hope it is for yours.  Too often, I feel like my life is softly rooted in the desert sand, rather than firmly rooted by a living stream.

As participants in this sight I hope that each of us finds that by engaging together around God’s Word we experience the following:

1.  A life that is never on shaky ground (uncertainty), but  is standing on solid ground (certainty).

2.  A life that is never dry, but continually refreshed and new by a life giving source.

3.  A life that is never fruitless, but always producing fruit and positively effecting the world around us.

May God richly bless us as we grow our roots together!

What will you find at this site?

1.  Audio and video Bible studies that I have done at my church.

2.  Postings on key doctrines of the church that we all need to better understand (root ourselves in) and  defend.

3.  The ability to engage in live dialogue over key life questions.

Peace!!!!
